The Drive with Wes Neighbors and Steve Moulton
Wes and Steve at Walk-On's in Baton Rouge before the Alabama-LSU game in 2012
The afternoon show (5 pm - 7 pm) on 97.7 The Zone is The Drive, anchored by former Crimson Tide and NFL center Wes Neighbors and sports talk personality Steve Moulton. The show is a mixture of Wes's insight on football and sports in the Tennessee Valley with Steve's knowledge of the national sports scene.
Wes is a Huntsville native and no stranger to local and statewide sports. He was a part of Bear Bryant's last recruiting class and played for Ray Perkins at Alabama from 1982-86. He was drafted in the 9th round by the Houston Oilers in 1987. An injury shortened his NFL career, and he returned to Huntsville where he has lived ever since.
Steve grew up in Tucker, Georgia and worked for the University of Georgia Communications Department (Bulldog Radio). He worked closely with radio legend Larry Munson while in Athens. He worked at WSB-AM, 790 The Zone, and 680 The Fan in Atlanta for 5 years before leaving Atlanta to migrate to the Tennessee Valley to work at AM 1400 in Decatur. When he heard The Zone on the air he immediately jumped at the chance to join his new home for the last 5 years. Steve has won Alabama Sportscaster of the Year for three of the last five years. He has won the award more than any other broadcaster.
